Lain.la 4.0 is a significant rebuild of my entire environment, and encapsulates the Proxmox project and the associated hardware. I have just completed the designs and charts for it. Most of these things are already in place, but some are "future desired state" and not in play yet. Still, I wanted to show you the charts so you can see where we are going.
If you ask "What happened to Lain.la 3.0?", well, that was the move into a 42U rack, dedicated environmental controls, and the addition of the second power unit, and removal of the T5810s from the stack entirely. That was the Townhouse Garage Datacenter article. I just never did new charts for it.
So without further ado, here's 4.0! It's three charts:
- Rack Plan: This shows where everything is racked.
- Power Plan: This illustrates how I manage to get redundant power to the servers, and how power outage resiliency is achieved.
- Logical Network Map: These are all the network interconnections, from physical, all the way to the OpenVPN tunnels.
Browsing hint: If you're on mobile, the embedded diagrams can be zoomed in and out with pinch, and you can scroll between them by using the right hand scrollbar manually. Your "browser" will navigate you *inside* the diagram window if you don't.
