Pomf is Shutting Down, For Now

It is with great sadness that I must announce a temporary but indefinite shutdown of Pomf, both uploads and downloads, starting with new uploads on February 14th and ending with full shutdown on March 14th.

This is the last thing I ever wanted to do, but multiple major threats to the existence of Pomf are all coalescing rapidly at a time in which I do not have the personal bandwidth to fight all at once:

Plate Spinning, or Conducting Six Orchestras Simultaneously (Concepts Around Projects)

I'm writing this article out of order from what I specified in the "Return to Form" article. The original title was "What makes me, me - Concepts Around Efficiency, Workflow, etc.", but I chose a more generic title because it doesn't have to specifically be about me. This is more of a brainstorming session personally for me to figure out how I work, how others work, and to pose my ideas in an open space and see if anything resonates with anyone.

The Log Cabin Datacenter

Merry Christmas. Lots of big pictures in this article FYI.

Since today is a calm day, I figure I'd go write some stuff down. I am very proud of this place I now lovingly call the "Log Cabin Datacenter". So let's talk about it!

Replacing Lain.la Free Hosting with Actual Free Hosting

So hey. I know I've been slow as hell getting more space available for Lain.la, and that hosting article is a CHORE to read through and is full of caveats and "don't do this" statements and blah blah blah. So I am retiring it. It's going away. Everyone who has resources from me now - you can keep them forever. I will keep it all running for you. But new requests? Outside of ludicrous proposals that I'd be morbidly curious to fill (e.g. I need 128GB of RAM - for science!), nope. This offer is over. Here's why:

Lain.la 4.0.

Lain.la 4.0 is a significant rebuild of my entire environment, and encapsulates the Proxmox project and the associated hardware. I have just completed the designs and charts for it. Most of these things are already in place, but some are "future desired state" and not in play yet. Still, I wanted to show you the charts so you can see where we are going.
